You're reading: Two die in rallies outside Crimean parliament, says ex-head of Mejlis

 The rallies in front of the Crimean parliament on Wednesday lead to two fatalities, former chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev has said.

“Unfortunately, two people died during these clashes. There were no injuries. One had a heart attack, another, a woman, unfortunately, was trampled by the crowd,” he said from the stage on Independence Square on Wednesday.

Earlier, the Health Ministry of Crimea reported that an elderly man died of a heart attack during the rallies in Simferopol, eleven sought medical assistance.
