Ukraine's finance minister says IMF continues to cooperate actively with Ukraine
During the talks the parties discussed the current condition of the Ukrainian economy. In particular, Lipsky pointed out the importance of holding reforms in Ukraine to achieve the goals set in the frames of a program of cooperation with the IMF, dealing with the new challenges and creating a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth.
The IMF head noted the progress of the talks on the implementation the obligations taken by Ukraine's Government, the press service said.
In turn, Yaroshenko said that the IMF leadership supports the continuation of the active work in the frames of cooperation with Ukraine.
Yaroshenko said that they met with understanding and support from the IMF and that the fund saw that the program was working, the press service reported.
The finance minister also said that the IMF management welcomed the adoption at first reading of a bill on pension reform.
According to the press service, in a press statement issued on the results of the consultations, Lipsky said: 'We have discussed the current condition of the economy of Ukraine. In order to achieve the goals of cooperation, reduce the vulnerability of the economy and lay the foundation for sustainable economic development, we have stressed the importance of a sturdy policy and state reforms in Ukraine. We have agreed to continue the cooperation.'
