You're reading: Ukrainian Choice leader Medvedchuk says he doesn’t represent interests of DPR, LPR, but negotiates with them

Viktor Medvedchuk, leader of the Ukrainian Choice public movement, has denied the media reports stating that he represented the interests of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics in the June 23 consultations in Donetsk.

“I have never represented the interests of the Donetsk People’s Republic or the Luhansk People’s Republic. In a group of negotiation mediators involving parliamentarian Nestor Shufrych, we have conducted negotiations with representatives of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic to achieve a peaceful settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. The information allegedly disseminated on behalf of the OSCE is false,” he said in his blog in the early hours of Wednesday, June 25.

A report posted on the OSCE Web site on Tuesday said that a representative of the Donetsk People’s Republic had said in a meeting with the OSCE mission that Medvedchuk represented the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic in the negotiations.
