The Ukrainian government has decided to establish a prize of the Cabinet of Ministers for the development and introduction of innovative technologies, according to government resolution No. 701 of August 1.

According to the provision about the prize approved by the same resolution, five prizes will be awarded annually on the occasion of the Science Day (celebrated on the third Saturday in May). Its size will be determined annually by the government.

The resolution obliges the State Agency for Science, Innovation and Information Support to publish by June 1 every year an announcement on the competition for prizes. Works nominated for prizes are accepted for consideration if their results are introduced in practice not less than a year before their nomination for the prize.

The number of authors of works cannot exceed ten participants. In this case the prize is divided between them in equal shares.

A committee operating on a voluntary basis should be created for the awarding of prizes. Its head will be the deputy prime minister and minister of social policy. It will also include representatives of the executive branch of government, as well as science and industry.

The draft government resolution on the awarding of the prizes of the State Agency for Science, Innovation and Information Support should prepare before May 1 of the year in which prizes are awarded.
