The Ukrainian Azov battalion and the 39th battalion of the Dnepropetrovsk territorial defense have taken over the city of Novy Svet in the Donetsk region, Ihor Mosiy, deputy commander of the Azov battalion on liaison with the public, said.

Mosiy said the military units resisting the Ukrainian military used
Grad systems and mortars. “Novy Svet is now fully controlled by the Azov
battalion and the Ukrainian military,” the battalion’s information
service quoted Mosiy as saying on Tuesday, July 29.

The units resisting the Ukrainian military “have left the city and
are maneuvering on its outskirts,” the information service reported.

The Starobesheve thermal electric power plant is also controlled by the Ukrainian military, the report says.

There are no casualties among the Ukrainian military and the battalion Azov, the report says.
