You're reading: Erdogan: Turkey ready to normalize relations with Israel through mediators if Tel Aviv apologizes

Turkey sees no prospect for normalizing relations with Israel unless Tel Aviv apologizes to Ankara, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday.

“As for Israel, you know what our reply to those who want to visit us and hold talks has been like. First – apologies, second – compensation, and third – the lifting of the embargo against Palestine,” Erdogan told reporters after a session of the Turkish-Ukrainian High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.

Until the above conditions are met, there is no question of normal relations, the Turkish premier said.

He added, however, that “if anyone guarantees us that our conditions will be fulfilled, we will accept mediators”.
