You're reading: Human bodies, inside out

This exhibition is definitely not for the faint-hearted.

About 150 real human organs and body parts will go on display on Sept. 7 at Kyiv’s Olympic Stadium.

The exhibition features healthy and injured body parts as well as human bodies and fetuses at different stages of development. They are all donor bodies and organs. All the showpieces have undergone a special polymeric conservation procedure, during which bodily fluids were replaced with silicone.

The exhibition aims to show the processes that happen inside the human body when a person is exercising, resting or doing everyday chores. It also shows how the body can be damaged by unhealthy lifestyles.

“Body: The Exhibition” has been touring the world since 2005, triggering emotional responses. Now residents of the Ukrainian capital have a chance to make up their minds whether they are fascinated or disgusted to see humans in a way they normally cannot be seen.
