‘Barbie’ exhibition

The world’s favorite doll, Barbie, just celebrated her 50th birthday stil looking 18. Ukraine commemorates the anniversary with an exhibition at Dim Mykoly gallery. It will showcase hundreds of miniature beauties made in different years, including exclusive collection dolls and unusual dolls from the latest collection, “Barbie-Thumbelina.” The first Barbie doll was officially patented in 1958 by Ruth Handler and looked very different from its modern heiress – it wore colorful make-up, red lipstick and no smile. Over the years, the Barbie world expanded and the doll received a home, a car, a horse and numerous other accessories, including boyfriend Ken. Now there are Barbies of all races, professions and styles, some of which resemble celebrities.
