Bands appear and collapse every day, but this new band promises to be special.
GrozovSka has a highly creative and bright cast that had formerly featured in three other Kyiv bands: Sontseklyosh, Toporchestra and Le Grand Orchestra.
Their styles were quite different, so the fresh concoction might become quite explosive. In the band’s own words, it will be a mix that ranges from “fatal mamba” to “gypsy grange.”
The lead singer, who also lent her name to the band, Olena Grozovska, previously featured in Sontseklyosh, a band that specialized in collecting traditional Ukrainian songs across the country and remaking them in unusual arrangements, such as reggae and tango. This is her first side project.
