Travel to Ukraine’s folk rock with Mandry
This week gives us a nice chance to get a feel of Ukraine’s folk rock.
One of the oldest bands in Ukraine, Mandry, will perform in Docker’s ABC on Jan. 27.
The name of the band means “journey,” while the band itself has traveled through the nation’s music since 1997, when the band was started.
Its peculiar music combines folk motives with rock and reggae rhythms. Its songs are tuneful and lyrical, and are well worth seeing.
This week the band is presenting a new album called “Svit” (“The World”), its 7th, and will also play some of the old loved hits.
