A native of St. Petersburg, Igor Butman is now considered to be a virtuoso saxophonist and a leader of an internationally acclaimed jazz band.

The concert marks Butman’s 50th anniversary, which he will celebrate in Kyiv with his band.

Butman was featured in the record of American saxophonist Grover Washington, Jr. in the 1980s, which brought the Russian musician on the world jazz scene.

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton, a skilled jazz musician himself, called Butman his “favorite living saxophone player.”

In May 2009 Butman launched his own jazz label “Butman Music.”
