Fortunately, Lavrov was not seriously hurt. But, sensing that the attacks showed the builders had something to hide, the Kyiv Post investigated. What we found is disturbing.

The 3,269 units in the 13-building complex are being built on donated government land that requires the homes to go to soldiers.

But it appears that only 10 percent of the units have been set aside for soldiers and the rest will be sold at market rates.

The Security Service of Ukraine, commissioning the project, has not given answers. We will keep asking and hope that state officials, politicians and other journalists do the same. We are reporting what we know on pages 2 and 3. It’s a troubling portrait already.
