Although the charges are denied, the documents help explain why, since the 2014 EuroMaidan Revolution, no one has been charged with mass murder or major financial corruption. And the spreadsheets show that almost everyone was on the take. This pretty much sums up the collusion by Ukrainian politicans and their contempt for the people.

It seems likely that the bribery system is still flourishing today. There is no reason to think the corruption stopped just because Yanukovych and his cronies fled to Russia.

The General Prosecutor’s Office is at the heart of protecting this corrupt system, aided and abetted by the oligarchs still in charge of Ukraine’s parliament, with their grey cardinals strategically placed throughout government.

Unfortunately, nobody has figured out how to dismantle these corrupt institutions, but everyone who cares about Ukraine’s future will keep trying.
