‘Nezlamna’ film is VES Awards nominee

Ukrainian movie ‘Nezlamna’ is in a short list of VES Awards (The Visual Effects Society Award), ‘Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Episode’ category.

All visual effects were made by Ukrainian studio ‘Рostmodern’.

Ihor Klimovsky, movie producer, for the fifth time ‘Nezlamna’ has been selected in TOP-100 from other 10 000 contestants.

The winner will be announced on Feb. 2, in Los Angeles.

Kharkiv tractors Edison fly at the speed of light

Kharkiv Tractor Plant sold the first lot of electric tractors Edison (10 pcs). They became so popular that the plant is ready to produce the next lot. The price of electric tractor is $15000. Additional functions such as full drive, AC, larger battery capacity are available upon request and with additional cost.

Electric tractor XTZ Edison is equipped with 40 kWt lithium-ionic batteries and 40 horses power electric engine. It takes from 2-4 hours to fully charge the battery. It can operate non-stop for 8 hours in transport position, and 4 hours in operating condition. It is designed to carry up to 2 tons and move at 40 km/h speed.

The production of a new lot was allegedly started on Jan. 12.

Cherkasy dancers win Grand Prix in Poland

Cherkasy folk dance ensemble ‘Veselka’ won a Grand Prix at the international contest in Poland. Ukrainian dancers were recognized the best among other 35 dancing ensembles that participated in the competition.

The dancing ensemble ‘Veselka’ was founded at the Center of Kids and Junior Arts in Cherkasy in 2000. It was awarded ‘The Best Dancing Ensemble’ title in 2003. The young dancers study classic, folk, historical and modern dances. Practicing folk dances of different Ukrainian regions and neighboring countries the leaders of the ensemble have prepared a very bright program of folk dances and choreographic compositions.

Lufthansa Airlines returns to Odesa

After two years of flights suspension Lufthansa German Airlines returns to Odesa. Odesa-Munich flight will be performed twice a week since March 2016.

The flights will be operated on Canadair Regional Jet CRJ900 with capacity of 90 passengers.

Moreover, Austrian Airlines, the daughter of Lufthansa, plans to increase the number of Odesa-Vienna flights. Starting from summer 2016 the flights will be operated every day.

Lufthansa started operating in Ukraine 24 years ago and is represented by Lufthansa German Airlines and Austrian Airlines.

Ukraine to receive €30 million from EU to modernize border crossing points

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and European Commission has signed the Agreement that implies granting €30 million to Ukraine.

One part of the grant will be spent for further improvement of Krasnoylsk and Dyakivtsi automobile border crossing point (Ukraine-Romania border), Rava-Ruska, Ustyluh-Zosyn, Krakivets, Shehyni and Yahodyn crossing points (Ukraine-Poland border), Uzhhorod-Vyšné Nemecké border (Ukraine-Slovakia border). Also a new water border crossing point for canoers in the village of Vylok will appear at the border with Hungary.

The other part of the grant will be spent to develop modern IT infrastructure at all departments of customs and border guard service, to decrease floods and chemical and sewage contamination of the Lower Danube, to perform survey for further integration Ukrainian and Moldovan electric systems into energy system ENTSO-E.
