Sarah Palin on Ukraine’s entry to NATO

12 September 2008, 15:06 | Views:1699 | Comments :9
Her position is exactly the same as that of Barack Obama, Joseph Biden and John McCain.

The lead story this morning on Korrespondent, that Sarah Palin called for NATO to accept Georgia and Ukraine as members, highlights the vice presidential candidate’s statement: "The United States must be ready to go to war if Georgia" is attacked after it becomes a NATO member.

While readers may agree or disagree with this statement, as well as Ukraine possibly joining NATO, her view is exactly the same as her running mate, John McCain, and Democrats Barack Obama and Joseph Biden.

In April, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed a resolution sponsored by Biden, co-sponsored by McCain and Obama, calling for NATO to accept Georgia and Ukraine. The crux of the NATO treaty remains Article 5, which states that an attack on one member country is to be considered an attack on all.

She simply voiced explicitly something the other candidates supported by their votes.

Sarah Palin has more brains in her little toe than Obama. She\'s smart and understands the World and will make better decisions than Obama or Biden. Obama is a fanatic who hangs out with terrorist and radical moslems. God forgive America for being so desperate and foolish.....to elect Obama. Of course he promises more freebies for people who already leech off the generous American welfare system.....

\"Voiced explicitly\"? The woman who claims to have foreign policy experience because she can see Russia from Alaska? Or, because she\'s had to deal with all those pesky Canadians? You really think she understands that Ukraine is a sovereign nation? We should be so lucky.

What is it with the self-appointed leaders of the free world that they don\'t understand that there has never been a single opinion poll in Ukraine showing a majority in favour of NATO membership? To alter the country\'s security policy against the express wishes of the population is about as thorough a denial of democracy as I can imagine. Ukrainians, too, need to wake up to the fact that America has no interest in defending them, only in using them as a pawn in its own global ambitions - the same way that Russia has always used Serbia, or that Britain has used Belgium. The neo-cons who were privately encouraging Saakashvili to attack South Ossetia had neither property nor relations in Gori.

Sarah (Winky) Palin should stick to sports newscasting. Governor from an energy producing state does not qualify to be VP and heaven forbid President. (remember that governor from Texas?) She has a bright future in infommercials.

Don't forget Spiro Agnew, forced to resign in 1973. And why was that enough with the attacks? The lady IS in a contact sport: politics.

Is Sarah Palin the first VP candidate to possibly be indicted? I honestly cannot think of another candidate this has happened to.

History being made.
