Government approves measures on accommodation for Euro 2012 participants and guests
Kyiv, Dec. 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Cabinet of Ministers has approved urgent measures on the construction, reconstruction and re-equipment of facilities to accommodate the participants and guests of the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.

This is stipulated by government resolution No. 1484-r of Nov. 19, 2008.

According to the document, the government ordered the Finance Ministry, the State Treasury and the State Tax Administration to take a number of measures to reimburse VAT in time to entities constructing, reconstructing and reequipping the abovementioned facilities.

Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa and Kharkiv regions, where the Euro 2012 host cities are located, should submit by December 15, 2008, a list of facilities that are being prepared as accommodation, and the amount of loans they need to clear or refinance loans provided by foreign creditors.

Moreover, the Cabinet of Ministers ordered the State Customs Service to consider the issue of the customs registration of goods necessary to prepare the facilities to accommodate Euro 2012 participants and guests.

The government also recommended that the local government bodies of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa and Kharkiv resolve the question of supporting economic entities involved in Euro 2012 preparations by decreasing the size of taxes and duties levied on them to a level established by law, approve housing and municipal tariffs at economically grounded levels, and urgently provide permission documentation for the construction, reconstruction and re-equipment of these facilities.
