Finance Ministry officially suggests NBU authorize borrowers to repay foreign currency loans with hryvnias
Kyiv, Dec. 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian Finance Minister Victor Pynzenyk has officially turned to the National Bank of Ukraine with the suggestion that the NBU amend resolutions to authorize borrowers to repay their foreign currency loans with hryvnias, reads a statement posted on the Finance Ministry's official Web site.

"Victor Pynzenyk suggests amending the NBU's resolutions allowing banks to effect the following operations: give the right to borrowers to repay foreign currency loans or their parts and interest on the loans with the national currency (at the NBU's official forex rate set by the day of repayment) if banks do not object," reads the statement with reference to the ministry's letter addressed to the NBU.

IIt is not normal in any country to have so many loans in currency which is not its own,in fact ttechnically dollars and euro are not leagl tender in Ukraine.But who cares about Mr.average iin Ukraine?
