Gazprom: Ukraine switched off last, fourth transit pipeline to Europe

7 January, 12:10 | Interfax-Ukraine
Kyiv, January 7 (Interfax) - Ukraine's gas transportation system was switched to an autonomous mode on January 7, Naftogaz Ukrainy CEO Oleh Dubyna said at a news conference on Wednesday.

"Gazprom cut gas flows to the Ukrainian gas transportation system at 7:45 a.m. today. In this setting, the Ukrainian side was forced to make the decision to switch the system to an autonomous mode," he said.

Russian gas shipments to Europe have been fully halted, Dubyna said.

Gazprom's Deputy head Alexander Medvedev earlier said in Berlin that Ukraine had turned off the last, fourth gas pipeline transiting gas to Europe.
