Kyiv estimates 'smart' traffic control system at Hr 286.6 million

The Kyiv city administration has estimated the introduction of the smart traffic control system at Hr 286.6 million.

The introduction of the 'smart' traffic control system envisages 205 information boards, 93 sets of roadside stations, 93 video cameras, 333 transport detectors, and four weather stations.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is intending to give a 30 million euro loan to the Kyivdorservis municipal company for the introduction of the smart traffic control system.

The Kyiv city administration planned to introduce the smart traffic control system by the end of 2008.

In May 2007, the the Kyivdorservis municipal company reached agreement with Transbud Corporation in Kyiv on the construction of the second stage of the smart traffic control system.

In February 2007, the Kyiv city council endorsed a program of the development of the smart traffic control systems for 2007-2009.
