The aim of the study is to define the future traffic pattern for municipal electric trains, and construction of the high-speed tram line.

The municipal transport carries approximately 4.7 million passengers annually.

The passenger transportations in the Kyiv subway totals 2.2 million persons.

In 2004, the Kyiv municipal state administration agreed with the Kyiv National Transport University to study the city passenger traffic to improve the public passenger transport system.
