Kyivenerho likely to cut down power to debtor companies financed from Kyiv budget From November 27
Kyivenerho, a company delivering heat and electricity in Kyiv, is likely to begin on November 27 cutting down power to enterprises, financed from the city and district budgets of Kyiv, who owe debts for consumed electricity, Kyivenerho announced in a statement the text of which Ukrainian News has obtained.

In a letter to Kyiv municipal state administration the company stressed that as of November 1 this category of consumers owed Hr 6.682 million for electric energy.

In November they have reduced this debt by Hr 2 million and at the moment it makes about Hr 4.6 million.

Kyivenerho forecasts that in November these companies will consume about Hr 15.4 million in electricity.

"In order to avert negative impact on the company and the capital's energy system, from November 27 Kyivenerho is taking a series of measures to restrict energy supplies to debtors," the statement reads.

The company is asking Kyiv municipal administration to urgently apply appropriate measures to settle the indebtedness for consumed electricity.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Kyivenerho provides the entire cycle energy supplies to Kyiv with the only process of generation, transportation and sale of heating and electric energy.

The company ended 2007 with net profit of Hr 6.149 million, having increased net revenue by 40.83 percent or Hr 1,340.353 million to Hr 4,624.091 million, as compared with 2006.

The state owns a 50 percent stake plus one share in the Kyivenerho open joint-stock company (this stake has been contributed to the statutory capital of the national joint-stock company called the Energy Company of Ukraine).

Fluminea Limited (Cyprus) owns 15.72 percent, and Kapiton Trading Limited (Cyprus) owns 24.98 percent of the company.
