Thus, the Kyiv council banned retail trade with strong and soft drinks in trading establishments and restaurants floor area of which premises is less than 20 square meters, which are not equipped with security and fire alarm systems, heating, ventilations and do not comply with sanitary-technical and other norms.
Sale of alcohol in portions is prohibited in restaurants and stores' departments in which visiting halls are not separated from the selling space.
Besides, spirits sales are banned on territory of transport infrastructure facilities: bus terminals, bus stations, public transport stops, metro stations and underground space adjacent to them.
Alcohol is banned for sale in booths, stands and pavilions of less than 30 square meters area, and from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. in trading establishments and restaurants (except for those located in separate standing buildings) in parks for recreation and leisure and massively populated areas.
At the same time selling of tobacco goods is banned closer than 150 meters from educations institutions, at markets, in pavilions and booths, in underground walkways and on metro stations, in stores on territory of parks and recreation zones.
Trading with liquor and tobacco is prohibited in computer clubs and Internet cafes, in places of mass public events, in museums, libraries, palaces of culture, on stadiums and playgrounds.
This sale restriction is valid for stores and restaurants from the moment of expiration of their licenses they received before the imposition of the restriction.
Thereupon, Kyiv council declared stale its resolution made on January 1, 2000 to ban retail and wholesale trade in liquor at markets from hawkers stands, on territory of educational and medical institutions.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Main department of the Internal Affairs Ministry in Kyiv asks Kyiv city state administration to assist in prevention from sale of alcoholic drinks and tobacco goods to minors.
In October 2006, Kyiv council banned outdoor advertisements of strong and soft drinks, and tobacco goods, including on big size structures in Khreschatyk.
