Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has assured the population of the country's Autonomous Republic of Crimea that the new authorities are able to bring stability back to the country and prevent any split in its society.

“I would like to address Crimean residents: we will ensure stability and no one will ever be able to divide Ukraine,” Yatseniuk said at a session of Ukraine’s new interim government on Thursday.

“Although we have language, religious and other differences, we all share the goal of keeping our country united,” he said.
