A total of 1,362 residents of Kyiv have declared income of more than UAH 1 million as part of the income declaration campaign in Ukraine, the press service of the main office of the Ukrainian Income and Tax Ministry in Kyiv reported on Monday, citing the head of the office, Iryna Nosachova.

A total of UAH 5.9 billion was declared in the declarations of income and property of citizens.

“They should pay over UAH 198 million in taxes to the budget. Most
wealthy citizens traditionally reside in the Pechersky, Shevchenkivsky,
Holosiyivsky and Obolonsky districts of Kyiv,” Nosachova said.

She said that the explanatory work of Income and Tax Ministry experts
had helped increase the number of wealthy people in Kyiv that do not
hide their own income and pay taxes to the budget.

As reported, last year tax officers registered 1,037 millionaires in Kyiv, who declared UAH 5.1 billion in income.
