You're reading: AeroSvit uses program of anti-crisis measures to restore regularity of flights

Kyiv-based AeroSvit Airline on June 13, 2012, thanks to some anti-crisis measures, has considerably stabilized the schedule for performing flights, which allowed it to normalize the situation of servicing passengers at Boryspil airport, the airline's press service has said.

The press service said that at present it is likely that several flights of the airline could be delayed, which is the consequence of errors in the flight schedule in the previous days.

"A considerable improvement in the situation with the observation of the flight schedule by AeroSvit was registered on June 12, and this was the grounds for the good assessment of the anti-crisis actions of the airline by the State Aviation Service of Ukraine," the company said.

AeroSvit next week will launch three additional planes to finally restore the regularity of flights and by late June, another two planes will be added.

In addition, the airline is making quick changes to the flight program. The time of departure and arrival for flights is postponed, taking into account the optimal exploitation of the existing fleet and the new planes that are to be added in the near term. Existing and scheduled carrying capacities are being redistributed in line with the loading of flights.

The airline asks passengers to insist on putting their phone numbers into booking information by agents. This is required to quickly inform passengers about changes in the flight schedule.

Earlier AeroSvit said that in June AeroSvit accelerated the procedure for drawing up agreements on the leasing of an ATR-72 and two Boeing 737-700 planes. These new planes and another two new Embraer 190 planes will be put into exploitation in the second half of June.

The airline said that the key reason for the problems with the regularity of its flights on June 8-11 was the unexpected removal of four planes of foreign partners from service in May, and a delay with the supply of two new aircraft due to reasons not dependent on AeroSvit.

The absence of aircraft that the airline was waiting for had influenced the frequency of its flights, as had the increase of passenger transportation in the first ten days of June with the start of the Euro 2012 European football championship.

AeroSvit was created in 1994. It is based at Boryspil airport in Kyiv. The company serves 80 international routes to 34 countries as well as domestic routes. It has been a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) since 1996 and of the Association of European Airlines since 2008.

Its fleet consists of 19 medium-range Boeing 737s and eight long-haul Boeing 767s. In addition to that, it operates Airbus 320, Airbus 321, Embraer 145, and Embraer 195 aircraft jointly with partner airlines.
