The key agreement between Ukraine and Russia on natural gas supplies should be revised, as they are unfair, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at the ninth meeting of the Ukrainian-Russian forum, entitled "The second wave of global crisis and prospects for Ukrainian-Russian relations," in Kyiv on Wednesday.

"We don’t need any discounts or favors. We just want one thing – fairness in our relations [with Russia]," he said.

"By doing worse to Ukraine, you will do worse to yourself [Russia]," Azarov said.

He said that an unequal contract on gas supplies could eventually undermine the foundations of long-term cooperation between the two countries.

At the same time, Azarov said that Ukraine "is very interested in seeing the rapid and effective economic development of Russia."
