Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said he hopes that the understanding of the unfairness of the current gas contract and its negative impact on Ukrainian-Russian relations will motivate Russia to review the contract.

"We are now continuing difficult negotiations, and we hope that the understanding of the unfairness of this contract and its negative impact on our bilateral relations and on our economy will motivate our partners to reach a compromise," he told journalists in Kyiv on Tuesday.
