Public joint-stock company Azovobschemash, part of public joint-stock company Azovmash (both based in Mariupol, Donetsk region) is preparing to supply a third batch of special-purpose equipment in 2014 for the Cyclone-4 rocket complex being built by Ukraine and Brazil at the Alcantara Space Center in Brazil.

“Recently Azovobschemash received a certificate of compliance from
the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping to produce prototypes of tanks
to ship oxidizing agents and fuel – elements of rocket fuel – to the
Alcantara space center. The production of a batch of special equipment
consisting of 42 tanks has been started,” the enterprise told
Interfax-Ukraine.

“Work under the Cyclone-4 project is going according to schedule. The
delivery of the third batch of special-purpose equipment for the
Cyclone Alcantara Space binational company is scheduled for the first
half of 2014,” the enterprise said.

The first batch of special-purpose equipment for the Cyclone-4 rocket
complex made by Azovobschemash under a contract signed in 2009 with
Cyclone Alcantara Space binational company was delivered to the customer
in 2012.

The second batch was shipped to Brazil in May 2013.

Ukraine and Brazil signed an agreement in 2003 on long-term
cooperation in constructing the Cyclone-4 space rocket complex at
Brazil’s Alcantara Space Center. The construction of the launch center
was started in autumn 2010.

The project costs are estimated at $488 million, with the two countries sharing the expenses fifty-fifty.

Azovmash is one of the largest engineering complexes of Ukraine. It
is an internationally known supplier of railway freight wagons and
platforms, bowsers, road transport, metallurgy, mining and crane
