Bloomberg: Ukraine harvested 15.9 million tons of grains

Ukraine’s farmers harvested 15.9 million metric tons of grain this season to July 20, agricultural researcher UkrAgroConsult said.

Average grain yields declined to 2.22 tons a hectare (2.47 acres) from 2.89 tons a hectare a year earlier, the Kyiv-based researcher said in e-mailed statement today, July 23. 

Wheat, including winter and spring crop, accounted for 10.6 million tons with an average yield of 2.46 tons a hectare, according to the researcher. The barley harvest was 4.7 million tons with an average yield 1.85 tons a hectare.
