You're reading: Boiko discusses participation of Koreans in building Ukrainian LNG terminal

Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Boiko has met Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) Executive Vice President Hyun Kun Shin and discussed the possible participation of the corporation in a project to build an LNG terminal in Odesa region, the press service of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine has reported.

The press service said that the deputy director of the plant construction department for foreign projects at KOGAS was present at the meeting.

“At the meeting the sides expressed hope that their cooperation will deepen,” reads the report.

As reported, LNG Terminal Project Curator Vitaliy Demyaniuk earlier said that KOGAS is among the possible investors in the project.

KOGAS is a state energy company, a monopolist in gas transportation, storage and distribution in South Korea. The company manages several LNG-terminals, acts as investor and general contractor of some projects on the building of LNG terminals, gas pipelines and other infrastructure in the United States, Australia, Iraq, Mozambique and Mexico.
