At the 40th Anniversary gala dinner & awards ceremony of the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe in London on April 10, the 2013 Award for the best small chamber 2013 in Europe went to the British Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce. The prize was presented by Lord Green, the United Kingdom minister for trade and industry, who spoke at the event.

The panel
of judges, from seven different countries, in making the
award, declared that “the British Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce has offered a well-rounded variety of high level, high impact
events that are very well publicized with good outcomes for
the membership and the wider business and political community. Corporate social responsibility runs through every
activity of the chamber as its life blood, combining social,
cultural, political and economic/ trade promotion at every
level.”

The BUCC also came second for the award for the best corporate social responsibility program.

The BUCC
is the newest member of Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe, the official body of
British chambers in Europe and is mostly composed of
bilateral chambers, like the British-French, British-German
and British-Italian chambers, that have existed for most of
the past century. The BUCC, founded in 1997 under the auspices
of the British and Ukrainian governments, was recognized four
years ago as being the official British-Ukrainian Chamber.
