Kharkiv – Certification of Ukrainian grain has begun in the United States, Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk has said.

“We have dared to say that we were ready to supply Ukrainian grain to the U.S. market. At first they were surprised, but now they have to start certifying our grain,” the minister said at a press briefing in Kharkiv on Monday.

He stressed that certification was a necessary procedure for the conclusion of contracts for grain supplies to the United States.

“No one will sign contracts without certification… Our task is to receive confirmation that our grain meets all global requirements, including those of the United States,” Prysiazhniuk said.

As reported, earlier the minister said that Ukraine could break a record in terms of grain export in the new marketing year. He said that the country could export 27 million tonnes of grain.
