You're reading: Christine Lagarde: IMF mission in Kyiv begins work on economic reform program

Washington - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission that has been working in Ukraine since March 4 "has made good progress in assessing the situation," IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde said in a statement on the IMF's website.

“The team will work with the Ukrainian authorities to develop an economic reform program that will result in sound economic governance and sustainable growth,” Lagarde said.

The mission plans to conclude its work by March 21, the statement says.
