You're reading: Court opens bankruptcy case against Chornomornaftogaz

The economic court in Crimea on Jan. 17, 2013 opened a bankruptcy case against state-run enterprise Chornomornaftogaz, reads a ruling of the court posted on the Judicial Authority of Ukraine portal.

The case was opened under a claim by Kyiv-based Ukrresurskomplekt LLC, which has demanded that Chornomornaftogaz pay a debt of UAH 662,735.

The case will be heard on Feb. 26, 2013.

As reported, Chornomornaftogaz carries out offshore development in the Ukrainian sections of the Black and Azov Seas. The company also produces hydrocarbons at fields in Crimea, and operates the Hlibovske underground gas storage facilities and trunk pipelines on the peninsula. It is wholly owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy.
