Deliveries of crude oil to Ukrainian oil refineries and the Shebelynka gas processing plant dropped by 2.3 times or 784,100 tonnes, to 613,600 tonnes in January and February 2013 year-over-year, a source in the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry has told Interfax-Ukraine.

This marked decline was caused by the absence of Russian oil supplies in January and February 2013, while in January and February 2012 some 734,800 tonnes of Russian crude oil was shipped.

Crude deliveries to Ukrainian oil refineries from Ukraine declined by 21.5 percent or 110,300 tonnes, to 401,700 tonnes, while supplies of Kazakh oil were up 3.2 times up or 62,800 tonnes, to 91,400 tonnes. There were deliveries of Azeri oil in January and February 2013 of 20,000 tonnes, while in January and February 2012 Azeri oil was not supplied to Ukraine.

Deliveries of gas condensate to Ukrainian refineries fell by 11.8 percent or 13,200 tonnes, to 98,500 tonnes in the period, while supplies of vacuum gasoil were down by 5.3 times or 8,600 tonnes, to 2,000 tonnes.

Crude was delivered to Kremenchuk oil refinery (429,500 tonnes), Drohobych oil refinery (60,800 tonnes), Nadvirna refinery (24,800 tonnes) and Shebelynka gas refinery (98,500 tonnes) in January and February 2013.

The ministry official said that oil was refined at one of the country’s five operating oil refineries – Kremenchuk – and at Shebelynka gas refinery during that period, while Lysychansk, Odesa, Nadvirna and Drohobych oil refineries were idle.

Ukraine’s oil refineries and Shebelynka gas refinery cut oil stock refining 2.9 times or 903,100 tonnes, to 480,200 tonnes in January and February 2013.

The oil refineries and Shebelynka gas refinery cut petrol output 2.7 times or 294,500 tonnes, to 171,200 tonnes last month; diesel fuel output by 2.4 times or 204,200 tonnes, to 142,500 tonnes; and fuel oil – by 3.6 times or 231,500 tonnes, to 89,300 tonnes.

As reported, deliveries of crude oil to Ukrainian oil refineries and Shebelynka gas processing plant dropped by 47 percent, to 4.907 million tonnes in 2012. The oil refineries and Shebelynka gas refinery cut crude refining 49.5 percent, to 4.57 million tonnes.
