Denmark is ready to allocated nearly $3 million to create an organization that will work on energy efficiency issues in Ukraine, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Dmytro Shymkiv has said.

“Denmark is currently working to allocate 15 million of Danish krones, which is approximately $3 million, to create a Ukrainian-Danish organization to work on energy efficiency in Ukraine,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Aug. 27.

Shymkiv noted that in the 70s, Denmark had faced almost the same energy crisis as Ukraine, but political will and energy preservation programs had allowed Denmark to acheieve serious economic growth practically without raising energy consumption.
