You're reading: Donetsk Region leading in terms of fall in industrial output in 2014

 Industrial production in Donetsk region in March 2014 decreased at the highest pace in the country: in comparison with the same period last year the figure was 20.1%, whereas in general in Ukraine the decline was 6.8%. According to the State Statistics Service, Donetsk region is leading in the pace of decline in industrial production as a whole for the first quarter of this year - 13% vs. 5% in general in Ukraine.

 According to the statistical authority, in the neighboring Luhansk
region, on the contrary, growth of industrial production of 3.9% wad
seen in March, which slowed the rate of its reduction in the first
quarter to 1.6%.

A significant decline in industrial production in March was also
recorded in Kharkiv region – 16.2%, Kyiv city – 15.8% and Vinnytsia
region – 15.5%, while the best performance was recorded at industrial
enterprises of Odesa and Kirovohrad regions – 9.4%, and Zhytomyr region –
8.6%.

In general, in March the rise in industrial output was recorded in 12
regions of the country, whereas the fall in 15 regions, and in general
in the first quarter of 2014 only industrial enterprises of Crimea and
six regions were able to increase production. The best result was seen
in Odesa region – 10.9%, Zhytomyr – 6.2%, and Crimea – 6.1%.
