You're reading: DTEK loss reaches Hr 3.4 billion in six months, financial unbalance exceeds Hr 6 billion

The losses of DTEK in January-June this year amounted to Hr 3.4 billion, non-payment for electricity supplied - Hr 2.7 billion, and the financial unbalance exceeded Hr 6 billion, DTEK CEO Maksym Tymchenko said at a meeting of the energy headquarters.

“Over the last six months the company’s losses came to Hr 3.4 billion confirmed by the NCER, the debt for electricity supplied – Hr 2.7 billion, therefore the non-financial unbalance of our company exceeded Hr 6 billion,” he said.

Tymchenko said that the company will only be able to maintain its current level of coal production, and repair its power units in the next two months, if the debts to DTEK are repaid.

At the same time, NCER Chairman Dmytro Vovk said DTEK’s statement on its losses being confirmed by the commission does not correspond to reality.

He said that the tariff for electricity production by DTEK includes inflated costs, in particular, depreciation charges are inflated threefold, adding that “corporate centers are overstated by billions of hryvnias.”
