Brussels - A meeting between the European Union, Russia and Ukraine on the gas dispute between Ukraine and Russia set for Sept. 20 has been called off, an EU official has said.
The date of the meeting was subject to approval by the three sides, European Commission Spokesperson for Energy Marlene Holzner said in Brussels on Sept. 15.
She said the Russian Energy Ministry had told them the date of Sept. 20 did not suit its minister, Alexander Novak.
The Sept. 20 meeting was called off, she said.
Novak will propose a different date, which will also be subject to approval by the three sides, the spokesperson added.
