Ukrainian billionaire Dmytro Firtash on March 2 enlarged his group of chemical enterprises, strengthening Ukraine's position on the world market nitrogen fertilizers.

According to the spokesman for Group DF, Firtash has become the new owner of the "Nitrogen" fertilizer plant in Cherkassy oblast, also known as Cherkassy Azot.

“To date, the aggregate capacity controlled by Dmitry Firtash producers of nitrogen fertilizers are 2.44 percent of world capacity, in particular, the share of enterprises located in Ukraine – 2.28 percent of world capacity,” the spokesman said.

Cherkassy Azot was commissioned in 1965. The plant is one of the leading chemical enterprises in Ukraine, employing 4,500 thousand people.
