The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine might tighten rules for placing outdoor advertising outside settlements, among which is that the distance between advertising structures should exceed 100 meters.

This is fixed in a posting on the Web site of the State Committee of
Ukraine for Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship, with reference to a
draft cabinet resolution on approving the regulations for placing
outdoor advertising outside settlements.

“The distance between advertising structures has been clearly defined
for the first time. They can be located at a minimum distance of 100
meters from each other. This will allow honest work. If the owner
violates the rules for placing his billboards, he will have either to
move it as required by the law or remove it. If the owner does not do
this, the regional administration will dismantle the structures,” the
statement reads.

In addition, permits for placing outdoor advertising outside
settlements will be issued with the signature of the regional state
administration head and with the concurrence of Ukravtodor and the State
Road Traffic Inspectorate, while inside settlements permits will be
issued by collective bodies, which will preclude the chance corruption.

“The rules of placing outdoor advertising outside settlements have no
priority, i.e. tenants do not need to get a preliminary permits to
secure their place for the time of the formalizing of documents,” the
authority said.
