You're reading: Government introduces licensing of anthracite exports

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has included anthracite in the list of goods that are subject to licensing when exported.

The corresponding decision was stipulated in Cabinet resolution No. 648 dated November 12, posted on the government’s web portal.

“Anthracite exports in 2014 are subject to licensing by agreement with the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry,” reads the resolution.

As reported, Ukraine in the period from September 1 to November 10, 2014 exported 566,000 tonnes of steam coal and coal used for domestic consumption (not coking coal). At the same time, the country’s power plants see a shortage of coal of this grade.
