The Agrarian Fund of Ukraine as of early November had more than 1.9 million tonnes of grain, Agrarian Fund Director General Ihor Yakubovych has said.

“The Agrarian Fund has more than 1.9 million tonnes of grain. These
volumes are more than enough to prevent an increase in the price of
flour and the most popular types of bread,” he said at a press
conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

Yakubovych said that, on the government’s orders, at present the
Agrarian Fund is processing grain and supplying flour to bakeries to
ensure stable bread prices.

According to him, the fund has shipped more than 5,000 tonnes of
flour and has reserves of another 13,000 tonnes. He said the Agrarian
Fund signed contracts for flour supply with 54 bakeries.

He said that flour is supplied at prices below market ones. In
particular, the fund sells the highest grade flour for UAH 2,896 per
tonne, the first grade flour for Hr 2,711 per tonne, the second grade
flour for Hr 2,381 per tonne, and rye flour for Hr 2,279 per tonne.

At the same time, according to him, the market price of flour varies from Hr 3,000 to Hr 3,100 per tonne.
