Grain stocks at Ukrainian agribusinesses (except for small farms) and grain storage and processing companies totaled 21.3 million tonnes as of November 1, 2012, which was 22% down compared to stocks on the same date in 2011, the State Statistics Service has said.

According to the source, wheat stocks were 8.2 million tonnes, barley
2.5 million tonnes, maize 8.9 million tonnes, and rye 400,000 tonnes.

Grain stocks at agribusinesses alone amounted to 11 million tonnes as
of November 1, 2012, which was 22% down year-over-year. There were 4
million tonnes of wheat, 1.7 million tonnes of barley, 4 million tonnes
of corn, and 200,000 tonnes of rye.

The statistics service said that the stocks of sunflower seeds as of
November 1, 2012 were 5.3 million tonnes, which was 11% down
year-over-year. Stocks at agricultural enterprises alone were estimated
at 2.6 million tonnes (12% down year-over-year).

Domestic grain consumption is estimated at 28.7 million tonnes per year.
