You're reading: Halt in Russian gas supplies to Ukraine won’t jeopardize transit to Europe – Sefcovic

A decision by Russia to halt gas supplies to Ukraine does not represent a threat to gas transit to Europe, European Commissioner for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic said. Like supplies of gas to Ukraine from outside Russia, gas transit to Europe is safe, he said.

It was reported earlier that Ukraine did not pay in advance for Russian gas in July and, with the start of the new gas day, supplies to Naftogaz Ukrainy were halted. Earlier Naftogaz said that it would only receive gas from Slovakia on July 1.
