You're reading: Holzner: Situation with Russian gas supply has normalized

Brussels - The situation with gas supply from Russia has normalized and gas is being supplied in the direction of the European Union in full, European Commission official Marlene Holzner told a briefing in Brussels on Sept. 15.

Holzner said the gas supply had returned to the normal level over the past weekend, adding that gas flows in the direction of some countries, including Poland, has not been identical before that. She said Poland had requested more gas than Russia expected to supply to it and that had caused imbalances over the course of a couple of days until the situation normalized.

Holzner said gas supply from Russia to the EU has now stabilized and the reverse flows to Ukraine from Poland, Slovakia and Hungary had reached the normal level over the past weekend.

Holzner also said the reduction of gas supply to Poland now appears to be technical.
