Housing Ministry: Companies' debts for energy 5.4% down since early 2012

The debts of Ukrainian enterprises for energy since the start of the year have fallen by 5.4% or by Hr 730 million, to Hr 12.8 billion, according to a press release of the Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Ministry.

The biggest debtors are the population (Hr 9 billion), commercial establishments (Hr 2.3 billion), as well as government institutions (Hr 650 million).

According to Minister Anatoliy Blyzniuk, the largest debts are in Donetsk (Hr 1.8 billion), Kharkiv (Hr 1.6 billion), Luhansk regions (Hr 1.1 billion) and Kyiv (Hr 2.8 billion).

The average level of payments by the public in the current year is 103%.

"As of the beginning of September, some Hr 6.9 billion had been allocated to pay the difference in tariffs and improve payments. Some Hr 2 billion has been funded. Documents for another Hr 2.3 billion have been submitted to the Finance Ministry and are to be financed soon. The Finance Ministry was obliged to take measures to transfer the term of funding the subvention from December to October," the minster said.
