You're reading: Jaresko hopes direct talks with creditors will be held soon

Ukraine's negotiations with creditors could move from consultations between the advisors hired by the parties to direct negotiations in the near future, Finance Minister of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko has said.

“I hope that soon the government will hold [a meeting] with creditors, not with the advisors, as happens every day, but between the debtor and the creditor,” she said.

Jaresko positively assessed the course of negotiations and creditors disclosed the structure of the committee of creditors.

Commenting on the course of negotiations with the mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) which arrived in Kyiv on May 12 for the first revision of the Extended Fund Facility launched in March 2015, Jaresko said that the mission will finish its work in the coming days.

Jaresko said that before a date is set for the board of directors to discuss the second disbursement of funds under the Extended Fund Facility Ukraine is to take several measures, in particular, to pass several bills via the Ukrainian parliament.
