KDM Shipping Public Ltd. (Cyprus), the holding company of the leading Ukrainian shipping operator, Capital Shipping Company LLC (Kyiv), has closed a deal on the placement of additionally issued shares and sold two million shares, which is equal to 21% of all the shares issued, and raised PLN 60 million, a source familiar with the details of the transaction has told Interfax-Ukraine.

The financial advisor to the transaction was UniCredit Bank
(Ukraine), the co-manager was Jaspen Capital, the lawyer – Baker &
McKenzie.

As reported, KDM Shipping planned to issue 2.7 million additional
shares, which is 37% of the number of issued shares, and perform their
private placement among a limited number of institutional investors. The
shareholders approved the increase in the capital at an extraordinary
meeting on May 17.

It was planned that to speed up the attraction of funds KDM Shipping
majority shareholder Kostiantyn Molodkovets, who holds 5.1 million
shares, or 69.9% of the charter capital, will sell two million of them.
The company will subsequently issue 2.7 million new shares – two million
of which Molodkovets will buy. Another 700,000 will be offered to
investors.

According to the Warsaw Stock Exchange, the company’s shares are listed at a price of PLN 36.5 ($11.19) per share.
