KONTI Group, one of the largest confectionary producers in Ukraine, has been put up for sale, reads a posting on the Forbes-Ukraine portal.

The publication says, referring to the information from the Mergermarket portal, the owners of the company plan to earn $1 billion from the sale of KONTI Group.

According to the Forbes-Ukraine, the first round of the formation of offers of potential buyers will be held in September 2013.

Britain’s Barclays investment bank acts as an advisor of KONTI Group. The key beneficiary of KONTI Group, Borys Kolesnikov, did not deny the information on the preparation of the company for sale, although he decided not to comment on the decision.

The KONTI group, formed in 1997, is one of the top three leaders on the Ukrainian confectionery market and one of the ten biggest players on the Russian market. It incorporates the Kursk confectionery in Russia and Donetsk, Horlivka, and Kostiantynivka confectioneries in Ukraine.

The main trademarks of the group are AMOUR, Bonjour dessert, Super Kontik, Belissimo, Melodika, BisKonti and Jack.
